Misty was on first, her first attempt straight in at 90cms. We had a stop at the first mainly due to the times running late but nonetheless she flew round the rest of the course just rolling a pole at the first part of the double. She then flew the xc with a lovely clear! So she is now allowed to go to isleham :)
For those of you that know misty and don't I nearly lost her 2 years ago now through peritonitis, she speant 6/7 months recovering from this and I let her have the summer off and she slowly came back into work, she has never been consistent in her results up until now and regularly stopped and wouldn't jump any more that day, we have worked through this and this winter she has excelled herself and has flown around xc fences also for the first time since I brought her! So although the results may not seem foot perfect this little mare has made me so unbelievably proud to get her up to 90cms this winter and with her feeling so amazing under saddle I am more than looking forward to the season ahead, our first eventing season together!
Tolly was up next who was entered in the dressage phase also, she was quite tricky warming up for dressage but surprisingly produced a satisfying test for her first test in a few years to score a very reasonable mark of 38.5. She then flew the show jumping with a lovely clear round using what we had learnt in our previous lesson with tiny clapham. Xc wise we didn't really get into the rhythm and had 2 silly stops, so of to aston for a xc school before isleham!
Again this mare and me have only been a real partnership this winter after 2/3 years of not doing much and making the transition from being shod to barefoot this mare is also making huge progress and becoming more and more consistent and I think will truly enjoy the season ahead!
All in all though fantastic day and I am very pleased with both horses progress!
